For example, there’s a running gag about one of the characters eating too much mayonnaise which is funny because if he ate that much mayo in reality he’d weigh two hundred kilos and have to get around with a motorised scooter? There are two characters who pretty much exist for stalker jokes and there’s another running joke about Katsura getting annoyed by people calling him the wrong thing. There are times when the randomness can work and there are some points where they parody something competently instead of just making reference to it but they’re few and far between.

The problem is, they should've dubbed it from episode 1, not from 266. I watched one episode just to see how good the dub was ( I never really watch dubs though, i watch pretty much everything in its original language actually ). So yeah, as for the quality of the dub, it is on the better side of it, the problem is, like i said, it doesn't translate well. The voices actors are decent for the most part, but some of them just don't catch the character's personnality or just plain sound bad ( Like Sougo and Katsura ).

Episodes 226-278 of the anime with an English on Wednesday. An additional 12 episodes will be added every Wednesday in February. The cast includes: • as Gintoki Sakata • as Shinpachi Shimura • as Kagura • as Tae Shimura • as Kotaro Katsura • as Toshiro Hijikata • as Sogo Okita • as Isao Kondo • as Sagaru Yamazaki • as Tsukuyo • as Tatsuma Sakamoto • as Tama • Advah Soudak as Yagyu Kyubei Crunchyroll in July that it would dub and release anime, including Gintama, on Blu-ray Disc on DVD. And Crunchyroll in September that Funimation will handle Crunchyroll's home video distribution, though the companies have not confirmed whether or not Funimation will release Gintama. The first anime series premiered in 2006 and continued (with several extended ) until 2013.

Starting a show at episode 266? Sure, Gintama is not famous for it's plot but still.

He lacks the utter defeat in life. He is also a little too young for me. He is like 15 years older than a most of the others yet sounds no older than Gin. ZuraKatsura lacks the serous idiot tone for me. Him along with Tsukuyo are borderline okay.

Myself personally I'm gonna start watching, season 3 from 266-316 are both dubbed and free to watch on CrunchyRoll. (off topic a bit but I can't wait to get these on DVD when they start selling them ^^ ) and CrunchyRoll has also said new dubbed episodes of Gintama every Wednesday through February and also the cast listings (link to that here) EDIT- I was looking through episode 266's comments and so far they're decently positive which is nice to see (and man I wish I could comment but I can't sadly for whatever reason).

Appalled by all of this, Hijikata decides to leave, but Kondo and Okita join in on the gig. And so begins the dramatic yet sad battle of men on a stake-out, ready to break up a couple’s date. Matsudaira summons Kondo, Hijikata, and Okita to the Ikedaya and informs the three of them that “You-know-who” is finally making his move.
